My husband and I moved to Fond du Lac in 1999 from a small town in Illinois along the Mississippi River.
We sought this area, as we didn’t want to be too far from family and we both enjoy winter and summer activities along the water. I was fortunate to get hired at Back-in-Action as a staff physical therapist. I tell people “ I grew up as a therapist here.” I had worked in a few other clinics and hospital settings prior to relocating, and this was definitely a different environment. We are fast-paced, patient focused, collaborative, and funny! I worked here, developing special interest and pursuing additional education in the areas of women’s health, chronic spine and hip disorders, pelvic pain and chronic pain.
After having my 2 kids and with changes in healthcare requiring more keyboard time, I took a break from therapy for a few months and then worked for a few years in pain management at a much larger corporate setting. It was a learning experience in many ways, both as a clinician and understanding the differences between big healthcare and Back in Action. The pandemic prompted my departure from that relationship in the end of 2021. I returned to Back-in- Action, as they had a need, and I can say, I am thrilled to be back with a seasoned team that appreciates relationships with each other and with our patients.
I value the genuine interest each therapist and staff takes in every client, their stories, and the recovery process. I value the experience Back-in-Action enjoys throughout our clinics, having mostly veteran staff and the humility in each of us to willingly learn from one another with the sole purpose of giving the patient the best experience possible.
